WHO drew the curtain on COVID-19*

On 5 May 2023, the head of the UN World Health Organisation (WHO) declared an end to COVID-19 as a public health emergency. The WHO chief first made it a public health emergency of international concern on 30 January 2020.

*It’s not a question.

In May 2023 I wrote some stuff on my twitter/X site after WHO drew the curtain on the declaration of COVID-19 as a global health emergency.

It goes without saying - though here I am, saying it anyway - that the previous three years had been a shitstorm.

As stated by the WHO’s then Director General, Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, “Many mistakes were made, including a lack of coordination, equity and solidarity, which meant that existing tools and technologies were not best used to combat the virus.”
